Ingredients
- 1 box Mrs. T’s Classic Onion Pierogies
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2-3 cups mushrooms, sliced
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup water
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
- 3 tablespoons crispy onions (optional)
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme (optional)
- Chili flakes, to taste
Directions
- Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat; make sure the skillet has a lid.
- Add the butter and mushrooms, season with salt and thyme; sauté until the mushrooms are soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and sauté for a minute longer until fragrant.
- Add the pierogies to the skillet, followed by the heavy cream and water.
- Season with salt and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover the skillet and let pierogies cook for 10 to 15 minutes over medium low heat until the pierogies are tender.
- Garnish with black pepper, crispy onions, Parmesan cheese, thyme and chili flakes as desired.
