Homegating has all the excitement of tailgating! You can enjoy all the fun and food with the added benefit of “home field” advantage! No need to wake up early just to pack up the car. Nobody will worry about tickets, event traffic, and the logistics of carpooling and caravanning, you can focus on what’s really important: FOOD! Homegating just isn’t homegating without some iconic, fan-favorite dishes to dig into! Some folks will show up to game day parties just for the food, and with pierogies on the menu, who can blame them?
Homegating Food
Quick bites are essential for any successful homegating party. Tasty handheld appetizers allow people to move around, watch the game, and enjoy activities. Try setting up your apps and snacks like a grazing table. It’s easy for anyone to help themselves, or to grab a quick snack on their way to the cornhole sign-up sheet! A fried pierogy in one hand and a bean bag in the other; that kind of multitasking is the true spirit of homegating season!
Pierogies make a great grab-and-go snack, but you better believe they can also be the main attraction. Make the crowd go wild by setting up your very own pierogy bar! It’s a tasty and interactive idea that becomes the fun factor on any homegating menu. Just prepare your favorite flavors of pierogies (we find MINIs work best, but if you prefer full size, go for it!) and set up some mouthwatering topping options for your guests to pile on! Cheese sauce, sour cream, chili, marinara, guacamole, and salsa are some of our favorites, but you can choose any toppings you like. There’s no wrong way to build out your game day pierogy bar! PRO TIP: It’s always good to have a few meatless options in the mix for any vegetarian fans in attendance.
The best part of any homegating experience is bringing together all the different kinds of fans in your life. While you may not normally see an Eagles fan playing nicely with a Cowboys fan, once you breakout the pierogies, they’ll be shoulder-to-shoulder at the pierogy bar in no time! Then once the games begin, you get to sit back, relax, and enjoy the company of friends, football, and good food.
